About the author
Herodotus was an ancient Greek historian known for writing the book “The Histories”. He was also known as “The Father of History”.
He is known as the first person to write about the history using a method of systematic investigation. He used to collect the materials and critically arrange them in an historiographic narrative for easy understanding to the reader. There are total of 9 books written by him in “The Histories”.
Book 1: CLIO
The book Clio is about kingdom, rulers, rape, protection, battles fought. The rape of lo, Europa, and Medea, which induced Paris to abdicate Helen. The ensuing Trojan War was known as the major antecedent in later conflicts between people of Asia and Europe.
Candaules was a king of the ancient kingdom of Lydia. Gyges was the founder of one of the dynasties of Lydian kings and formerly he was the bodyguard of candaules. Gyges took over the kingdom from candaules, as he made Gyges view the naked body of his wife and when this news went to wife of Candaules, she ordered Gyges to either murder Candaules or face death himself. To which Gyges assasinated him and succeeded the throne.
Croesus was another king of Lydia who according to Herodotus ruled for a period of 14 years. His major endeavor was to protect his son Atys. He was defeated by Ctrus || of Persia. He later became advisor for Cyrus.
Cyrus || of Persia was infamously called Cyrus the Elder by the Greeks. He was the founder of the very first Perisan Empire. He fought many battles and some among them were the attack on Babylon which got famous for the way he entered in the city. He took a revenge by the river Gyndes.The last battle he fought was an ill-fated attack on Eastern Iranian nomadic tribe known as the Massagetæ which lead to his uncalled demise.
The history and geography of tge lonians is that, Lonia was an acient region on the central partt of today’s Turkey. It was never a unified state and was named after its lonian tribe who were majorely identified by their tradition and also by their use of Eastern Greek. Lonia was attacked many a times bu Harpagus who was a Median general from the 6th centuary BC.
Harpagus was also tricked into eating his own son who was murdered and upon knowing this he turned the battlefield in favor of Cyrus,resulting in the defeat of the person who murdered Harpagus’ son and thereby forming of the Persian Empire.
There is description of several now known Asian Turkey tribes.The eclipse of Thales was precisely predicted by the known philospher of that time ‘Thales if Miletus’ on May 28,585 BC, and hence given its name after him. It was known as an omen which interrupted a battle between Medes and Lydians.
The war was stopped immediately and both the opponents agreed to a truce. This battle was known the earliest historical event whose date is known with accuracy till the day and described the divination as ” the birth of science “.
The book also has “The culture of Persians” which is also known as the ‘ The culture of Iran ‘. Iran us considered as one of the main cradles of civilization. It has wide-ranging cultural elasticity which is known as one of the key defining chahracterstics for its historical longevity.

She was already married whrn carried off by Prince Paris which eventually led to Trojab War which is known as the most important event that occurred in the history of Greek Mythology.
The history of other Egyptian Kings who ruled over time on the land of Egypt were Rhampsinit who is known to be the predecessor of the legendary king Kheops.
He is literary figure in the book and is a fictitious king of ancient Egypt. Apart from him there was Cheops who was the second Pharaoh, who had a major involvement in one of the seven wonders of the world i.e, the Great Pyramid of Giza, followed by other kings.
Some other kings of Egypt encompasses the twelve, Psammetichus, Necôs, Psammis, Apries, Amasis || among many.
The Labyrinth was a detailed/intricate, confusing structure, whose function was to hold a mythical creature known as Minotaur. Dædalus was the legendary artficer who built the labyrinth but it was very tricky fir him as well to escape it after he built it.
The animals of ancient Egypt included cats, dogs, crocodiles’ hippopotamus, otters, Phoenix, sacred serpents, winged snakes, ibises among many. The culture of Egypt comprehended medicine, funeral rites, food, boats.
